The Welshman talks his route into the sport, winning 15 games to qualify for Lakeside in '97, that win over Steve Beaton, the final with Les Wallace, winning the World Cup with Wales, his 2003 UK Open appearance, his darts since then and his thoughts on a possible comeback. I was lucky enough to watch my dad play Steve Beaton in the semi final! When Steve missed that double 10 to win I thought my father can do this as my father started to throw them 3 darts I closed my eyes so tight i couldn’t bare to watch! Then I heard the the screaming the banging of tables he’d did it! I was so overwhelmed and proud! What an achievement for my father that was, still now watching him play local I feel just as proud of his talent! From a toddler I’d watch my father practice in the bedroom even my nans back bedroom had a dartboard for him! His injury was a massive knock for him from it being his throwing arm/shoulder he injured! Now he’s back on the board playing in tournaments and he’s playing amazing! Still life in the the old dog! He’s still got it! Love to see him on a big stage again 🩵
